South End Townhouse Refresh

For this busy working couple, planning for the move into their new townhouse in the city was too much to tackle on their own between their busy schedules and managing two kids. We guided them through the process of managing a tight timeline and focused our sourcing efforts on vendors with products that met the needs of their aggressive timeline.

For this full service project, we partnered with one of our go to GC’s to help ensure we could have all of the construction work done between the previous owner’s move out date and their move out date in their previous condo just a few blocks away. On the main floor, a major part of our strategic planning for the space was a better living room layout where we relocated the TV to the fireplace wall, seating solutions to maximize the small living room in materials that would hold up well with two small boys, and creating a non-built-in office solution in a narrow hallway that would not impede the flow of the space. We made strategic paint and material selections to maximize light in the space, including a mirror installation that cascades down the wall of the main entryway and into the kitchen area below on the garden level to bounce light into the space and add interest.

To maximize storage in this urban living space we also added storage cubbies beneath the staircase that is hidden by an integrated wall panel design, and includes a dray erase board above the open cubbies for leaving hidden messages. In the dining area we sourced a narrow table and a banquette in performance fabric to soften the space and maximize seating for entertaining. Finally, we restyling the mudroom area with neutral storage bins to facilitate a more calming aesthetic and created an outdoor living area complete with seating, dining table, and TV.
