Modern Malden Loft
Our Malden loft client has been such a pleasure to work with over the course of the last two years! When we first met her, it was the heart of the pandemic and she was feeling ready to reimagine her space since she was spending literally all of her time there. After living there for 15+ years she was more than ready to part with all of the hand-me-down furnishings she had brought when she first purchased the home, and create a space that would be more inviting for guests and her two cats.
Part of the design challenge was to work within her “mid century” style preference, create a space that worked well with the existing kitchen (not part of the scope… maybe a phase 3 down the road!), and create zones in the open living space for her to have a more dedicated and professional looking “home office” workspace.
Our Phase 1 scope included built-in designs for a custom bench in the kitchen, custom bookcase with library ladder in the “office”, and a custom mantel with fireplace insert in the living room. One year later she brought us back to help enhance the look of the loft bedroom upstairs and both of her bathrooms. The Phase 2 scope included a custom built feature wall working with her existing bedroom furniture, new light fixtures, wallpaper in the guest bathroom, and a sleeping solution for guests.
